EQUITY SCHOLARSHIP
The Mount Olivet Foundation is offering an Equity Scholarship toward the cost of post-secondary school education, for a Black or Latinx high school senior entering college in Fall of 2024 from the following high schools: (I) All High Schools in Arlington County, Virginia; (ii) Alexandria City High School (Alexandria, Virginia); (iii) Justice High School (Fairfax County, Virginia) and (iv) Meridian High School (Falls Church City, Virginia).
Eligibility. To be eligible, candidates should be of Black or Latinx descent, have been accepted at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or equivalent institution, demonstrate financial need, have a family income below the median for Arlington County, and have a GPA of at least 2.5. In addition, preference will be given to applicants who are the first in their families to attend a post-secondary school.
Scholarship. A scholarship of up to $5,000 towards tuition and academic expenses will be awarded. The scholarship is renewable if the recipient maintains a GPA of at least 2.5, is making substantial progress towards an undergraduate degree, and funds are available.
Selection. Applicants will be ranked according to financial need, written submissions, leadership potential, and community service. The top five candidates will be interviewed remotely by the Selection Committee before it makes its recommendation to the Mount Olivet Foundation Board. The 2024 Scholarship recipient will be announced by June 1.
